Audiovisual Translation
Subtitles, captions and dubbing script adaptation for film, documentary, online courses and streaming content. Platform-compliant delivery in .SRT and .VTT.
About this service
Subtitles and captions are governed by rules that most people do not notice until they are broken. Reading speed limits how many characters can appear on screen at once. Line breaks affect how easily text reads while watching. Cultural references that work in Spanish may not land in English, or may need brief contextualisation. We produce subtitle files in .SRT and .VTT formats for documentary films, online courses, corporate training videos, YouTube channels and streaming platform submissions. For Netflix and Amazon Prime we follow platform-specific style guides exactly, including character limits, reading speed parameters, speaker identification and sound effect notation. We also adapt dubbing scripts for cases where full audio localisation is planned, working from the original transcript and timing file to produce target-language dialogue that fits the lip movement timing and natural spoken rhythm of the scene. Subtitles are not translation plus formatting. They are a distinct discipline. We treat them as such.
